Gleann Na Meala Farm in Hall is again offering the wonderful opportunity to ‘harvest your own’ organic potatoes – with a small cost per kilo (Dutch cream $2/kg, Kipfer and Purple Congo $3/kg). So if you’re interested in experiencing organic farming first hand, and exploring the many types of potatoes and how they are grown, please come along and share the mud and excitement!
It is a public event, so you are welcome to invite friends and family to come along. There will be tours of the rest of the farm too, so you can see where and how a whole range of vegetables are grown organically.
When: Saturday 1st June 1 – 4pm
Directions: The farm is only a 15 minute drive from the inner north. Go straight up the Barton Highway towards Hall. Pass the first exit to Hall. Turn left off the Barton Highway on to Wallaroo Road. Turn left again on to Gooromon Ponds Road. The farm (Gleann Na Meala) is number 247, on the left.
What to bring: Please be prepared to get dirty! Long trousers, a hat, gardening gloves and gumboots are best. A garden trowel/fork is also useful! Don’t forget a bucket or bag for your harvest!
